Bible:  1 Peter 1:24-25
Title:  The Life of a Christian in the World
Main Verse:  “But the word of the Lord endures forever.  And this is the word which was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:25)

1.             The way of life is divided into two in which they are the life of the flesh and the life of the gospel.  It is only natural for man to either walk the way of the life of the flesh or walk the way of the life of the gospel.

2.             To live by the flesh is to follow the mind and body of oneself and others and all things which is going against God truth and the regenerated spirit.  To live by the gospel is to live as ones who received the forgiveness justification and life of reconciliation from God which is the accomplishment of God’s exceedingly great love wisdom power joy complete will and the exceedingly great sacrifice.

3.              When we evaluate all things that we come in contact with whether it is listening and seeing we must evaluate by critiquing if they are of the flesh or of the gospel.  Also since we are confronted with a reality of choosing between the way of living according to the flesh and the way of living according to the gospel we must distinguish between the two and forsake the living according to the flesh and choose the living according to the gospel.  To live according to the gospel is eternal produces eternal life and glorious while living according to the flesh is like grass that withers corrupts and its glory is like the flower which in a moment will decay and in misery will end in destruction.  The unelect cannot live according to the gospel even if they wanted to but only the elect are able to.  We will be wise and be without regret if we devote everything in believing in God by boldly living according to the gospel such as our possessions mind body strength and time.

요절：오직 주의 말씀은 세세토록 있도다 하였으니 너희에게 전한 복음이 곧 이 말씀이니라(벧전 1：25)

1. 육체의 생활과 복음 생활 둘로 되어 있는 인생길이다. 육체로 사는 길을 걷느냐 복음으로사는 길을 걷느냐 둘 중에 하나를 필연적으로 걷게 되는 것이 사람들이다.

2. 육체로 사는 것은 하나님과 진리와 중생된 영을 거슬려 자타의 마음과 몸과 모든 사물들을 따라 사는 것이요 복음으로 사는 것은 지극히 크신 하나님의 사랑과 지혜와 능력과 기쁨과 온전한 뜻으로 지극히 큰 희생으로 이루어 주신 사죄받은 자로 칭의받은 자로 하나님의화친의 생명을 가진 자로 사는 것이 복음으로 사는 것이다.

3. 우리가 듣고 보고 접하는 모든 것을 평가할 때에 육체의 것이냐 복음의 것이냐로 비판하여 평가하고 또 우리 앞에 당한 현실을 어떻게 행동하느냐 하는 것을 선택할 때에 육체로사는 길과 복음으로 사는 길이 있으니 이 둘을 구별하여 육체로 사는 것은 버리고 복음으로사는 생활을 취하여야 한다.
복음으로 사는 생활은 다 영영하고 영생하고 존영하고 육체로 사는 생활은 풀과 같이 마르고 썩고 그 영광도 꽃과 같이 잠시 잠깐 후면 다 쇠잔해지고 멸망의 비참으로 화해지는 것이다. 불택자는 복음 생활을 할래야 할 수 없고 택자들만 복음 생활을 할 수 있다. 우리는하나님을 믿고 담대히 복음대로 사는 이 일에 소유도 마음도 몸도 힘도 시간도 다 바쳐 살아야 지혜로운 자요 후회가 없게 된다.

(해설)

1. (인생길)

인생길은 육체 생활과 복음 생활 둘로 되어 있으니
육체로 사느냐 복음으로 사는냐는 두 길 중에 하나를 꼭 걷게 되어 있다.

2. (두 길의 내용)

① 육체생활
육체로 사는 길은 하나님과 진리와 중생 된 영을 거스리고
자타의 마음과 몸과 모든 사물들을 따라 사는 것이고

② 복음생활
복음으로 사는 것은 지극히 크신 하나님의 사랑과 지혜와 능력과 기쁨과 온전한 뜻으로  
지극히 큰 희생으로 만들어 주신 사죄받은 자로 칭의받은 자로 하나님의 화친의 생명을 가진 자로 사는 것이다.

3. (복음으로 살 것)

우리는 우리가 듣고 보고 접하는 모든 것을 평가할 때
육체의 것이냐 복음의 것이냐 이 두 가지로만 비판하여 평가해야 한다.
또 우리 앞에 당한 현실에서 어떻게 행동하느냐는 것을 선택할 때
