Bible: Genesis 3: 1-8
Title: Depravity of Mankind
Main Verse:  “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was desirable to make one wise she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her and he ate.”(Genesis 3:6)
Time and Location:  4004 B.C.  Garden of Eden

Introduction
When God finished His work which it took 6 days and saw all things which were completed as beautiful He was very pleased.  In the Garden of Eden Adam lived a happy and free life.  He knew he was to be completely obedient and the one who needs to trust and become a follower when he realized that God is the creator and men are creatures.  The enticing of oneself(wanting to be free) came from the matter of Satan’s temptation.  Therefore true freedom in man’s life comes only from God’s commandment.  Freedom that comes from departing the commandment is death.

Main Subject
Part 1
1.            The serpent tempted the woman (Verses 1-5)
Behind the serpent there was Satan.  The serpent appeared as the instrument of Satan.
2.            Devil is the representative of mankind.  Also he did not directly tempt Adam who was the head but first deceived the woman who was weak.  
Since the churches today are weak the devil tries to shake those who can be tempted.  The devil brings words that are sweet to the ear to the one who serves by possessing both the world and heaven and the believer who looks up to the world only.  He cannot come to the one who from the beginning draws a line from the world and is willing to give up his life by believing in Jesus.  Even the false heresies bring them down by deceiving them.

3.            The cause of the transgression was when the woman answered the devil who was the enemy.
Satan is a liar and the one who exaggerates = “Indeed has God said ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?”
1)            Surely will not die.
2)            Eyes will be opened.
3)            Will be like God (2:11)
The devil is always pleased when there is transgression and likes it when we are opposed to God.  Although man obtained the knowledge of good and evil through transgression the strength to act in goodness and reject evil was gone.

Part 2:  The Woman Picked and Ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (First half of verse 6)
1.            Satan’s deception on the woman caused her to become an unbelieving servant and live a life by submitting to one’s own will.
1)            Seemed good for the food =  Lust of the flesh (1 John 2:16) god is their stomach (Philippians 3:19)
2)            Seemed delightful to the eyes = Lust of the eyes (1 John 2:16) glory is in their shame (Philippians 3:19)
3)            Seemed desirable = Boastful pride of life (1 John 2:16) these earthly things (Philippians 3:19)
Although Christ was also faced with these 3 similar types of deceptions He completely overcame them. (Matthew 4:1-11)

2.             The Husband Also Ate
The woman who committed the transgression gave the fruit to her husband.  While the woman hesitated to the deception to some degree he (Adam) without doubt received the forbidden fruit to eat.  Here we see that since humans are weak rather than things that cannot be seen with the eye anyone would lean to the things that can be seen through the doorway and that is sweet.  That is why many join the Catholic Church.

3.            Becoming defeated by the first temptation the opportunity to closely worship God and to eat the fruit of life eternally was lost.
However when Jesus Christ who is the second Adam was confronted with the second temptation He completely obeyed the Law and bore the cost of our sins above the cross which won over death and Satan.  This allowed us to inherit eternal life.

Part 3:  Results From Eating(Verses 7-8)
1.            Felt shame. (Verse 7)  Very opposite of what they expected.  Although the eyes of the flesh were opened it was this way because the clothes of knowledge righteousness and the purity of holiness which were possessed for the sake of the soul were taken off.  Though their nakedness was not the nakedness of the flesh but the nakedness of the spirit they made garments for themselves and wore it to cover their nakedness of the flesh.  This was the beginning of humanism and hypocrisy.

2.  Were Afraid (Verse 8)
The clothes that were worn by sewing the leaves of the fig tree were their shame that resulted from sins that could not be covered and eventually they fled before God and hid between the trees of the garden.  They could not be saved from fleeing away from the face of God.

3.  God found them and clothed them with the garments of skin
                 (3:21)  The blood and the garments of skin of the beast symbolizes
                 how the blessings of redemption and justification through Jesus
                 Christ will come true.

서론
하나님께서 6일동안 작업을 마치고 완성된 만물을 아름답게 보시고 매우 좋아하셨다. 아담은 에덴 동산에서 행복과 자유로운 생활 했다. 하나님은 창조주요 인간은 피조물인 것 깨닫고 절대 순종자 의종자(依從者)인 것 알았다.
사탄의 시험 문제에 자진 유혹(자유하고자 함)
그러므로 인생은 하나님의 계명만이 참 자유할 수 있음. 계명 떠난 자유는 사망.

본론
1대지
1. 뱀이 여자를 시험함(1절～5절)
뱀의 배후에 사탄이 있음. 사탄의 도구로 뱀이 나타남
2. 마귀는 인류의 대표자요 또 수령인 아담을 직접 시험하지 않고 먼저 약한 여인을 유혹함.
오늘 교회도 약하여 시험에 들만한 자 흔들어 본다.(세상과 하늘나라 겸하여 섬기고자 하는 자 세상만 보고 믿는 자) 귀에 달콤한 말 가지고 온다. 아예 세상과 획선을 그은 자 생명내어놓고 예수믿는 자에게는 오지 못한다. 사이비한 이단도 이 자들을 꼬아 넘어뜨린다.
3. 여인이 원수 마귀에게 대답하게 됨이 범죄할 원인이다.
사탄은 과장하는 자 거짓말쟁이 = 동산의 모든 실과를 먹지 말라 하더냐?
① 결단코 죽지 않음
② 눈 밝아짐
③ 하나님과 같이 될까 함 (2장 11절)
마귀는 언제나 범죄 기뻐하고 하나님과 반대되는 것 좋아함. 인간이 범죄로 선악의 지식가졌으나 선을 행하고 악을 물리칠 힘은 없어졌다.

2대지 여자가 선악과를 따먹음(6절 상반절)
1. 사탄은 여자 유혹하여 하나님 불신종(不信從) 자의사대로 살게 함
① 먹음직한 것 = 육체의 정욕(요한일서 2장 16절) 배로 하나님(빌립보서 3장 19절)
② 보암직한 것 = 안목의 정욕(요한일서 2장 16절) 부끄러움으로 영광(빌립보서 3장 19절)
③ 탐스러운 것 = 이생의 자랑(요일 2:16) 이 세상 일(빌3:19)
그리스도께서도 이와 비슷한 3종의 유혹을 당하셨으나 저는 모조리 그것을 정복하셨다. (마태복 음 4장 1절～11절)
2. 남편도 먹음
범죄한 여인은 남편에게 그 실과를 주었다. 여인은 다소 유혹에 주저하였으나 저는(아담은) 아무런 의문도 없이 금하신 실과를 받아 먹은 것을 보니 인간은 연약하여 눈에 보이지 않는 것보다 문에 보이는 달콤한 것이 오면 누구나 다 그리고 기울어진다. 그러므로 천주교로 많이 감
3. 제일 시험에 패전자 하나님을 가까이 모시고 영원히 생명과를 먹을 기회를 잃어버렸다. 그러나 둘째 아담인 예수 그리스도께서는 제이 시험 당할 때에 율법을 완전히 지키시고 십자가 상에서 우리 죄값을 부담하시었므로 사망과 사탄을 이기사 우리에게 영생을 얻게 하신 것이다.

3대지 먹은 결과(7절～8절)
1. 부끄러워 함(7절) 그들의 기대와 정반대.
육의 눈 밝았으나 영혼위해 가졌던 지식 의 거룩함의 순결 무사기함의 옷이 벗겨진 때문이다. 그들의 나체는 육의 나체가 아니요 영의 나체인데 육의 나체는 가리워 본다고 하여 치마를 만들어 입었다. 이것은 인류의 인본주의 외식주의의 시작이다.
2. 두려워 함(8절)
무화과 나뭇잎으로 엮어 입은 그 옷은 그들의 죄로 인하여 수치를 가리울 수 없어서 결국 하나님 앞을 피하여 동산 나무 사이에 숨은 것이다. 저들이 하나님의 얼굴 숨는 것으로 구원할 수 없는 것이다.
3. 하나님은 그들을 찾아 가죽옷을 지어입히셨으니(3장 21절) 그 짐승의 피와 가죽 옷은 장차 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 실현될 속죄와 칭의의 은혜를 상징적으로 보여 주신 것이다.
